A favourite amongst members is this 2 day and 1 night safari to the home of elephants, Amboseli National Park
The park located near the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro has an abundant elephant population which take refuge in its swamps and wide-open plains in search of water and food, especially during the dry months
The park also has a variety of other wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, foxes, hyenas, wildebeest, hippo, giraffe, impala, gazelles as well as rarely seen kudu, reedbucks and zebra. The birdlife here is amongst the highest in variety in Kenya
We can’t forget to mention that Mount Kilimanjaro looms over the park to the south and on a good clear day the whole mountain can be seen, including the snow capped crater
We will be offering Little Amanya Camp for accommodation which is located 2km from Iremito gate
If Little Amanya gets full, the second option will be AA Lodges
These rates will cover:
- Transport and safari by 4WD tour van for the 2 days and 1 night from Nairobi and back
- Entry fees for Kenyans/residents for 1 nights – Non residents will pay 60 USD for entry fees
- Full board stay at Little Amanya or AA Lodges – Non residents will attract an additional fee at the camp as per their non resident rates – this will be checked on request
- Light snacks on day 1
Costing is as follows:
Little Amanya
- Only sharing options available, no single rooms
- King Lion, Leopard, Tiger rooms at 15,500 per person – each room takes 2 people
- Cheetah (double), Giraffe (triple) room at 16,000 per person
- Lioness (triple) at 16,500 per person
- Elephant Deluxe (double) at 20,500 per person
AA lodges
- Single room at 19,800 per person
- Double rooms at 17,200 per person
- Triple rooms at 17,200 per person
We will also be giving out binoculars to use during the safari for better viewing experiences. We have 18 pairs of binoculars that will be shared out amongst attendees – this is at no extra cost and is part of the package
