This is a moderate hike, 11km long through the Gatamaiyu Kereita forest ecosystem.
It starts at the southern edge of Gatamaiyu Forest reserve and finishes near Kimende town. The hike initially starts with a slow descent to a waterfall through dense jungle type of vegetation, then slowly back up through open forest, near “The Forest” premises and then back into woodland forest.
Towards the end we pass through some farms and exit on a murram road a few km from Kimende township. The route through the forest is not always fixed and this results in a total hiking distance of 11-12km
The cost of the hike will cover
- Transport by bus from Nairobi CBD and back
- Entry fees for Kenyan Adults – for residents and non residents, the fee will be 250 and 500 Kshs more respectively
- Ranger/guide fees
- Water and light snacks

I’d like to drive myself there. Would you give me a discount based on this?
Hallo, please note that the starting and ending points for this hike are not the same. You could drive to the starting point and then start the hike but our finish line is several km away
