Located less than 2 hours from Nairobi is Kereita Forest. Now most people know it for the amazing adventure activities on offer at The Forest but we’re here for the hike in the same region
Starting off the hike close to where Carbacid mine their carbon dioxide, the trail starts of gently and rises in a short while to the highest point of the hike at 2650m. Thereafter forms the bulk of the hike where we continuously descend down to the waterfall which is at 2360m ASL
Going through dense rain forest and woodland thickets, we eventually get down to the waterfall which is the main objective of the hike. Swimming is not allowed however due to the force of the waters
The return is along the same way back to the starting point and that completes the hike at 10km or so
The cost of the hike will cover
- Transport by bus from Nairobi CBD and back
- Entry fees for Kenyan Adults – for residents and non residents, the fee will be 250 and 500 Kshs more respectively
- Ranger/guide fees
- Water and light snacks
