Lake Naivasha and the nearby smaller Crater Lake form an important birding area between Hells Gate and Elementaita and offers visitors plenty of birdlife and scenery to experience
Our 1 day visit will involve :
- Stopover at Rift Valley Viewpoint
- Drive to one of the public beaches where we will have a leisurely open walk along the shoreline as we do bird watching
- Visit to the Raptor Centre at Kilimandege Sanctuary for 1 hour
- Boat ride for 1 hour for more birding and experiencing the scenery
- Optional visit to Crescent Island Wildlife Sanctuary at an additional fee of 800 Kshs per person
- Visit to Crater Lake Sanctuary and the viewpoint
We will also be giving out binoculars to use during the trip for better viewing experiences. We have 18 pairs of binoculars that will be shared out amongst attendees – this is at no extra cost and is part of the package
Cost coverage
- Transport by bus from Nairobi and back
- Visit to Raptor Centre for an educational tour of the centre
- 1 hour boat ride at Lake Naivasha
- Entry fees at Crater Lake Sanctuary for Kenyans. Residents will need to add 400 Kshs while non residents would top up with 20USD
- Emergency water and light snacks.
This event is suitable for kids as young as 5 years – please also note that all kids must be accompanied by an adult
