One of the best safari destinations in Kenya is the under rated Meru National Park, located to the east of Meru town. Join us on this weekend of Jamhuri day for 3 days of wild exploration

 

The expansive park hosts a wide variety of wildlife such as rhinos, lions, leopards, elephants as well as some of the unique five from Samburu such as Grevy’s zebra and Gerenuk

 

The natural beauty of the land includes numerous rivers, massive rocky outcrops, rapids, swamps and distant views of Mt. Kenya

Come join us on this 3 day safari for an incredible experience in the wild away from cities, noise and pollution

 

Proposed Itinerary

Day 1:

  • 6am departure from CBD
  • Arrive at Murera gate at 1pm with a couple of stops along the way for washroom breaks
  • Deal with entry, enter the park, head to the KWS bandas to check in and have lunch
  • Do an afternoon safari from 2:30pm to 6pm
  • Arrive at Murera bandas
  • Refresh, settle in, dinner at 7pm and then sleep

Day 2:

  • Morning breakfast from 6:30am, then full day safari from 7:30am to 6:00am
  • We will attempt a visit to Adamson’s falls
  • Repeat as day 1 for dinner

Day 3:

  • Early morning breakfast from 6am, leave at 7am
  • Morning safari up to 10am
  • Return to bandas, check out and exit the park around 10:30am and begin our journey back to Nairobi
  • We will have stopover somewhere for lunch, possibly Meru town
  • Expect to be back by 6pm or so on Sunday

 

Accommodation Options:

 

We will be staying at KWS Bandas inside Meru national park. We will be staying at Murera bandas which can accommodate between 2 – 3 people in each room. These rooms have attached washrooms, power, well maintained grounds and are a few minutes away from Murera gate. You can check out some photos below

 

 

Costing will be as follows:

  • Tw0 people per room at 28,500 Kshs per person sharing
  • If you would like 3 people per room, then the cost comes down to 26,000 Kshs per person

 

Cost covers the following:

  • Transport and safari on all 3 days by 4WD tour van from Nairobi and back
  • Entry fees for Kenyans. Residents would top up with 600 Kshs while non residents would top up with 140 USD
  • 2 nights stay at KWS bandas inclusive of 6 meals cooked by a chef
  • Light snacks on day 1
  • We will also be giving out binoculars to use during the safari for better viewing experiences. We have 24 pairs of binoculars that will be shared out amongst attendees – this is at no extra cost and is part of the package
