On your way to Mombasa from Nairobi, you’ll likely see many rocky hills along the main highway. We will be climbing one of these hills located between Salama and Sultan Hamud. This hike is categorised as moderate with the total hiking distance at 10km
The climb starts at a small shopping centre and then winds up the hill over dusty paths and then later rocky outcrops. Some sections during the climb can be steep and good shoes are needed. As the climb progresses, we will get spectacular views of the highway and lands below as well as the SGR line
The hike reaches the top near the cell tower masts and then follows a gentle descent along dirt roads and over rocky river beds to reach the main highway.
