Mount Kenya has no shortage of hiking routes and trails and Likii North is a one of the many high altitude hikes that can be done. The trail starts and ends at Ole Moses Camp which is inside the Mount Kenya National Park and traverses an approximate length of 15km. The hike starts at an altitude of 3400m and is meant for those practicing and preparing for the ultimate hike for Mt. Kenya climb. This hike is rated difficult and is not meant for beginner hikers
The hike has varying vegetation and is adorned with high altitude mountain scrub cover and offers views of the surrounding slopes and the Mount Kenya peaks in good weather.

The cost of the hike will cover
- Transport by bus from Nairobi CBD and back
- Entry fees for Kenyans. Residents would top up with 300 Kshs while non residents would add 75USD
- Ranger fees
- Hiking badges
- Emergency Water and light snacks
This hike is suitable for kids as young as of 14 years – please also note that all kids must be accompanied by an adult
