Nzaui Hill is a cultural heritage in Makueni County that offers stunning views of neighbouring hills within the area. The hike can be classified as moderate-challenging, with a 1,321m elevation gain covering 18.5km.
The hike starts at Mutulani Market, with wide roads, before heading into a mostly man – made forest that has very thick diverse vegetation. Due to the thick vegetation, most paths are underdeveloped and prickly.
The ascent is continuous but gentle for most points, before getting to the peak at 1,835m asl and a descent back to the starting point.
The cost of the hike will cover
- Transport by bus from Nairobi CBD and back
- Entry fees for Kenyan Adults – for residents and non residents, the fee will be 250 and 500 Kshs more respectively
- Ranger/guide fees
- Water and light snacks
- Summit badge
