Surrounding Machakos town on 3 sides is Iveti Hills, a curving set of hills and forest that lines the horizon. Our trek heads into the hills, traverses Katunga Forest before coming back down through farmlands and dirt roads
At 18-20km, with an elevation gain of over 550m, this hike falls into moderate tough category and is a great start for those moving from moderate hikes like Sagana and Kereita
Come and experience the awe of towering trees that dot the landscape, listen to the birds and insects that call this forest home, feel the cool breeze as it passes through the rows and rows of long ago planted trees

The cost of the hike will cover
- Transport by bus from Nairobi CBD and back
- Entry fees for Kenyan Adults – for residents and non residents, the fee will 250 and 500 Kshs more respectively

This hike is suitable for kids as young as 14 years – please also note that all kids must be accompanied by an adult
