On the shores of Lake Elementaita is an intriguing remnant of a volcanic mountain. The collapsed crater has a side profile that looks like a warrior lying on his back, asleep – hence the name of the hill and of this hike
This hike is approximately 11-12km long and is categorised as moderate due to the steep sides of the crater and the long walk along the lake shore in the sun

The cost will cover
- Transport by bus from Nairobi and back
- Entry fees for Kenyans. Residents would pay 200 Kshs more while non resident fee will be 1800 Kshs more
- Guide fees
- Light snacks and emergency water
This hike is suitable for kids as young as 10 years – please also note that all kids must be accompanied by an adult
